Karawane Parkraum

Public space is for everyone! A large part of the public space in Berlin is planned only for driving and parking of cars, thus very unfairly distributed and prevents an ecologically, economically and socially sustainable urban development. With performative and interactive interventions in urban space, we would like to contribute to the discourse on a fair distribution of space.

With the Karawane Parkraum, four very differently shaped bicycle trailers, we move out to parking areas and show through temporary actions innovative and experimental forms of use of public space. The highly visible trailers span an openly accessible space that encourages low-threshold interactive participation. In close cooperation with local initiatives and actors, we organize open workshops, discussion rounds, collective cooking, and much more with adults and young people on the park areas of our city.
