Critical Bike Design

The workshop Critical Bike Design aims to sensitize young people to issues of sustainable bicycle mobility and motivates them to actively engage with the urban space that surrounds them. After a collective reflection on their own mobility behaviour, problems that cyclists encounter in the city were identified. In order to counteract these problems, the young people developed concepts that were realised as prototypes and mounted on bicycles. With their often ironic and exaggerated solutions, the developed ideas critically point out current deficiencies in terms of bicycle mobility.
