Cuckoo clocks and assault rifles – war zones and living rooms are full of Black Forest quality workmanship, MADE IN GERMANY.
The concept combines two classic products in meticulous workmanship and creates a cynical symbol of a German economy idyll.
Instead of a friendly “cuckoo”, a gun barrel appears symbolising the 40.150 fatal shots per year – all from the weapons of one single german traditional company: Heckler & Koch. (According to a study by the aid organisation Terre des Hommes.)
MADE IN GERMANY by Dominik Berton and Felix Kampeter wants to create awareness and prompt reflection – not just on Heckler & Koch but on the methods and impact of the German weapon industry in general.
Bachelor thesis and Installation were graded by the HTW Berlin as an “outstanding” work.
