Baupalast am Dragoner
The Baupalast am Dragoner was an example of what could also work elsewhere: Urban practice as a central component of complex neighbourhood development. By urban practice, we mean working directly on the cultural level of the city, beyond disciplines and specific fields of responsibility.
In order to test such an urban laboratory, various collectives have come together under the organisational umbrella of an association: Constructlab, Guerilla Architects, the Institute for Applied Heterotopia, the film production OFFscreen, the Cairo Kulturkiosk, the bicycle collective fahrrad3000 as well as the team from Books People Places. They formed the foundation for an open and expanding network of city makers in the context of those already active in the Rathausblock model project.
